On May 19th, 2026, Vice President JD Vance stood at the White House podium spoke with passion and clarity following a deadly shooting at a San Diego mosque where two shooters — ages 17 and 18 — opened fire, killing three, and later took their own lives. Vance declared that religious violence like this is “particularly disgusting” and called it “one of the most anti-Christian and anti-American things you could do.” (The Christian Post) It’s important to note that the two mentally disturbed teens who perpetrated the crime were self-confessed anti-Semitic Nazis, not practicing Christians in any sense of the term. Still, the Vice President couldn’t be more right.
Freedom Has A Source
Vance, a devout practicing Catholic, connected religious liberty directly to Christian civilization, saying, “One of the fundamental American rights… came from our Christian heritage… we respect people’s religious freedom… because we respect them as human beings.” John 8:36 declares, “If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.” True freedom flows from Christ alone — not coercion, not conquest, and definitely not through violence. Faith can never be forced.
What Did Jesus Say?
Eternity is real — and so is Hell. If you’re a real Christian, you don’t even want your enemies to suffer. Jesus said it Himself in Luke 6:27-28: “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” We want every person, even those in false religions, to find real salvation, not destruction — and that only comes through Jesus.
In every conflict, be the person who speaks truth boldly, loves unconditionally, and shows compassion to the least fortunate — including those practicing false religion. Be like Jesus.
One Way. One Lord. One Truth.
There is one God, one Savior, one Name — Jesus Christ. John 14:6 leaves no room for debate: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Philippians 2:10-11 seals it — every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. You cannot beat anyone into that confession. It must come through surrender, not suffering. And God alone is in charge of that.
