Common sense is finally making a comeback. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the new Health and Human Services Secretary, is doing what no one in the swamp dared to do—he’s demanding real accountability before another jab gets pushed on the American people. As The Washington Post reported, RFK Jr. is moving to require that “all new vaccines be tested against inert placebos before being approved by the FDA” (Washington Post). And as a mother who refused the flu shot for my kids years ago—after researching it for myself—I say it’s about time.
When my children were little, I dug deep into the science behind routine flu shots. I asked the questions doctors wouldn’t. And after reading the fine print, I said no. Not once did my children receive the flu vaccine. Not once did they get the flu. You can call that anecdotal—but I call it discernment. And that same spirit of discernment tells me RFK Jr. is on to something.
Of course, the backlash was immediate. Critics claim his push for placebo testing is “unethical and scientifically unnecessary,” warning it could “delay vaccine development and approval” (Washington Post). But let’s ask the real question: why are they so afraid of testing a vaccine like any other drug? You wouldn’t take a pill that skipped clinical trials—so why do we inject our children with substances that haven’t been held to that same standard?
COVID-19 taught us many things. Yes, it was a real virus. I got it. Many of us did. And many of us, who didn’t get the vaccine, came out just fine. Yet we were ridiculed, censored, and labeled a threat. Now RFK Jr. is pulling back the curtain—and predictably, the establishment is trembling. His department says the new policy is about “restoring public trust in vaccine safety” by aligning standards with “common-sense ethics” (Washington Post). That shouldn’t be controversial. That should be the baseline.
But in today’s world, truth sounds like rebellion.
As believers, we know God warns against blind trust in man-made systems. “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” (Psalm 118:8, Bible Gateway). That includes politicians, yes—but also pharmaceutical giants. And while some will twist Romans 13 to justify submission to government authority, let’s not forget: that authority is supposed to be God’s servant for our good (Romans 13:4). When it ceases to protect and starts to coerce, we have a biblical mandate to speak up.
Thank God for a Health Secretary like RFK Jr.—a man unafraid to challenge the system and fight for our health. He’s not just banning toxic synthetic food dyes that have no business in our children’s snacks—he’s also taking a wrecking ball to the broken GRAS rule, which has let food companies sneak ingredients into our diets without real oversight. By demanding thorough safety evaluations for every new additive, he’s doing what few in Washington dare to do: put the health of American families before corporate convenience. He’s not just making waves—he’s making America healthy again.
My prayer is that more parents, more women of faith, and more believers in general will rise up with courage and clarity of mind. That we’d stop outsourcing our discernment to experts and start standing firm in the wisdom God gave us. Because medical freedom isn’t some fringe idea—it’s a God-given right. And the truth? It doesn’t need a narrative—it needs exposure. No more cover-ups. No more shortcuts. Let the testing begin.
