Trump, Zelensky, and the Spiritual Battle for True Peace

It wasn’t by accident that Presidents Trump and Zelensky stood face to face in St. Peter’s Basilica—a place the world calls holy but the discerning know is thick with darkness. Beneath those gilded ceilings, corruption has rotted for centuries. And yet, even here, even now, the cry for real peace rang out.

President Trump made it plain: “I think we have a deal with Russia,” he said—but exposed the cost. Zelensky was resisting because the terms demanded he hand over Ukrainian land, including Crimea (The Sun). Zelensky refused to bend, declaring that “any real peace must come with true security guarantees and full respect for Ukraine’s borders” (Washington Post).

Meanwhile, critics blasted the proposed plan, warning it “grants dangerous concessions to Moscow,” undermining Ukraine’s freedom just to buy short-term quiet (The Times).

As a woman of faith, I’m praying for two things today: the end of this bloody war—and the cleansing of a place that has mocked the name of Christ for too long. The Bible is clear: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil” (Isaiah 5:20). God is not fooled by marble pillars and stained glass. He looks straight at the heart—and He is calling for repentance, from Ukraine to Rome.

So today, we pray. We pray for Trump’s success in securing real, lasting peace. We pray for Zelensky’s courage to humble himself and stand unshaken. And we pray for a holy fire to sweep through the Vatican—consuming the doctrines of demons, tearing down every idol, and breaking every chain—until nothing is left but the truth of Jesus Christ alone.

Because true peace won’t be forged in backroom deals or dressed up in stained glass lies. 

It will come when righteousness storms the gates and takes its rightful place.
