Trump’s Tariff Tsunami—and China Isn’t Blinking First

Well, here we are. While the media is busy melting down over headlines and chasing distractions, President Donald Trump is going full throttle on China—and no, Beijing isn’t blinking. In fact, they’re throwing punches right back. This is not just a trade dispute. It’s a full-on economic face-off between the world’s biggest exporter and its most powerful market—and the stakes? They’re sky-high.

Trump’s tariffs are hitting hard. This isn’t some slow-moving chess game. This is rapid-fire, tit-for-tat economic warfare. China just slapped a 34% tariff on U.S. imports, and they’re vowing to “fight to the end.” And let’s be honest—neither side is backing down. The uncertainty? Off the charts. Global markets are watching, and Americans are already feeling the impact.

Now, for those who missed this in history class, the last time the U.S. jacked up tariffs like this, it made the Great Depression even worse as I stated in a previous article. The Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930 was supposed to protect American industry. Instead, it helped collapse global trade. And here we are again, staring down the barrel of another major economic shake-up.

But hear me clearly—this isn’t just economic strategy. It’s spiritual war. Trump is doing what most won’t. He’s dismantling the strongholds of globalism, corruption, and backroom deals that have hijacked our sovereignty and sold out the American people. The Word of God says, “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them” (Ephesians 5:11). That’s what this is. A divine exposure. A cleansing. And like any refining fire, it’s going to burn before it blesses.

Yes, it’s already hurting. Grocery bills are up. Small businesses are being squeezed. Farmers are losing markets. Blue-collar workers are taking the hits. This is what happens when you tear down a corrupt system—it doesn’t go quietly. But don’t mistake the shaking for failure. This is pruning. This is God shaking everything that can be shaken so that only what is unshakable will remain.

And if you’re feeling the heat now, hold on—it’s about to get hotter. “The testing of your faith produces perseverance” (James 1:3). It has to get worse before it gets better. But the suffering is not for nothing. These are the labor pains of a new era—one marked by truth, fairness, and freedom.

So what now? Could this turn into war? I don’t know. Nobody does. But what I do know is that we better be prayed up, rooted in truth, and not swayed by fear. The enemy loves to create chaos, but God uses the fire to forge warriors.

Trump’s tariffs aren’t just policy—they’re part of a righteous resistance. And as a woman watching this unfold with eyes wide open and a spirit grounded in the Word, I say this: the battle is fierce, but the cause is holy. “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37). So let’s stand. Let’s pray. And let’s not back down.

Because corruption is trembling—and that’s exactly how you know we’re on the right track.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6)
