A Muslim woman decided to follow Jesus after a former drug dealer she knew invited her to church.
Nadeen Flaveney was raised by a single Muslim father in a very poor environment. Being the only Muslim in her school, she has experienced being bullied by other kids. At home, her father has also become abusive to her. At a very young age, she hated the religion she grew up believing.
At the age of 12, she was diagnosed with ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, borderline schizophrenia, anxiety, and depression. Throughout her teenage years, she often saw demons and attempted suicide twice. When she was 14, she lost her virginity and, thereafter, began sleeping with many men and women.
Knowing how the enemy has been tormenting her, a Christian friend of hers brought Nadeen to her mom to be prayed for. But upon entering their home, she began attacking her friend’s mom violently. Her friend’s mom explained to her how the devil had manifested in her and how Jesus could set her free from it. That was the first time that she had heard the Gospel.
However, still feeling empty, she began finding joy in worldly things. Nadeen tried to explore other beliefs and even worked at a club to earn tons of money. But everything started to change when a man he knew was a drug dealer invited her to his church the night before she planned on ending her life. That was when God answered her questions about her existence.
“Yeah, you look lit on Instagram, but what is it doing to other people? What is your Instagram really doing for people? Is it leading people back to Jesus?” the preacher said that night.
The preacher then continued to flash a Bible verse on the church’s screen, and that verse was exactly what Nadeen needed to hear that night.
“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” Matthew 16:26
After that night, she began reading the Bible and seeking the Lord. On August 15, 2021, she declared Jesus as her Lord and Savior and got baptized. Today, she is now married to the man God has ordained for her; she has already forgiven her father and now goes around the world preaching the Good News of God.
