Lifetime Fitness Sides with Gender Ideology Over Women’s Safety—Florida AG Fights Back
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has warned a high-end fitness club it must change its bathroom policy or face prosecution under Gov. Ron DeSantis’ “Let Kids Be Kids” law—legislation designed to protect children from sexually explicit content and gender ideology. The warning came after a Florida woman entered her gym’s sauna (Lifetime Fitness) expecting a moment of peace. Instead, she was ambushed by a man in a bikini sitting inside the women’s locker room, exposing himself under the guise of “gender identity.” When she complained, she was told he had every right to be there. According to the report, “The woman was told the individual identifies as a woman and that Lifetime Fitness ‘must let her be in the women’s locker room and sauna.’” (Fox News)
And it gets worse. Lifetime Fitness refused to inform other women or parents with young daughters about the situation (Fox News). They prioritized ideology over innocence.
Can you believe this nightmare is happening at a high-end gym like Lifetime Fitness? My whole family has held memberships there, and now they’re telling women that it’s a man’s “right” to invade their private space? This isn’t just wrong—it’s outrageous. It’s time to put an end to this madness once and for all!
Being a woman is hard enough. We already walk into the gym battling insecurities—our shape, our size, and just the pressure to measure up. We shouldn’t have to battle the fear of a man lurking in a bikini beside us in the sauna, much less the locker room. Dear God—this is insanity at the highest degree.
Thank God for Attorney General Uthmeier, who isn’t bowing to the madness. He drew a clear line in the sand: “Florida will not tolerate businesses that allow men into women’s locker rooms.” (Fox News) That’s the kind of bold, common-sense leadership women across this country are crying out for—someone who still has the courage to stand for what’s right.
Isaiah’s warning echoes loudly: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness” (Isaiah 5:20). This is exactly what we’re seeing—sin dressed up as righteousness, and truth twisted into a lie.
“Life Time Fitness has a choice: immediately change your policy so that your female patrons can stay active, free from fear and with their privacy intact, or we’ll meet you in court,” said Uthmeier. “And that goes for any Florida gym. In this state, and for all other Lifetime Fitness gyms in the country—we don’t sacrifice women’s rights to satisfy men’s delusions.” Can I get an Amen—
