Hollywood’s New Oscar Rules: Embrace LGBTQ+ Inclusion and Storylines or Be Shut Out

A New Gatekeeping System in Hollywood

As reported by Christian Post, the Academy Awards have fully implemented “inclusion standards” that determine whether films can even qualify for Best Picture. These standards require productions to meet specific diversity benchmarks across casting, crew, and promotional teams, and even the actual script. LGBTQ+ representation is directly embedded within these requirements, making identity categories part of the eligibility process rather than a creative choice.

The Academy frames these policies as progress, but the practical effect is a restructuring of how stories are told and which ones are permitted to compete. Filmmakers are now navigating a checklist tied to gender identity, sexual orientation, and racial quotas. Creative decisions are increasingly shaped by compliance pressures instead of organic storytelling. 

Discrimination and Censorship in a Trojan Horse

This isn’t merely discriminatory, it is also a veiled system of anti-morality censorship. If you write a God-honoring script that promotes Judeo-Christian values and morality, you can forget about winning Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Writers, producers, and studios must now account for these requirements early in development if they want their films considered at the highest level. This can’t be allowed. 

Projects grounded in traditional moral frameworks—especially those reflecting biblical convictions—face an uphill path to a stone wall in this environment. The pressure to conform affects casting, character development, and even hiring practices behind the scenes. Over time, this reshapes the cultural output of an entire industry.

A Clear Response for Christian Film Buffs

Audiences are not powerless in this equation. Financial support drives the system. Every ticket purchase, subscription, and award show viewership reinforces the direction Hollywood is taking. Choosing not to participate sends a message that ideological filtering is not acceptable as a condition for storytelling.

Christians are called to discernment and action, not passive consumption. Scripture instructs believers to engage darkness by exposing it and refusing partnership with it. Never forget that the liberal globalist goal is to erase biblical morality from our culture, and to indoctrinate our youth into their perverse worldview. We have to take action if we hope to stop them. 

“Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”

Stepping back from the Oscars and withholding support from films shaped by these standards is a practical line in the sand. Culture shifts when people decide where their attention and resources go. Pray it out, and send the message to your legislators and policy makers that they must write laws and institute policies that stop these forms of discrimination and outright indoctrination of our youth.
