In a recent article posted by The Christian Post, the case was made that “Christianity has always been a culture-shaping force because Christ calls His people not just to personal faith but to public witness” (The Christian Post). This truth exposes the danger of silence from the Church while the world spirals deeper into chaos.
Jesus said it plainly
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). To withdraw from the public square is not humility—it’s disobedience. As the article warns, “A privatized Christianity that retreats from the public square abandons the world to darkness” (The Christian Post).
The role of government is not morally neutral
Romans 13 describes the State as God’s servant, ordained to punish evil and reward good. In a representative democracy, Christians must not only pray but also act—by electing leaders who uphold biblical truth. To neglect this is to surrender justice into the hands of the ungodly.
Today, All around the world—Christians are facing persecution, torture, and even death in the name of Jesus. Martyrdom has been a constant companion of the Church since Stephen, the first Christian martyr, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God with Jesus standing at His right hand, ready to welcome him home (Acts 7:55–56). That same spirit of costly faith continues today, and voices like Charlie Kirk’s have tragically joined the long line of faithful Christians who suffer for speaking truth without compromise.
Persecution is no longer a distant threat—it is here
As The Christian Post points out, “Those who refuse to bow to the idols of our age—whether on sexuality, transgender ideology, marriage, or biblical truth itself—you will face opposition” (The Christian Post). Paul warned us of this reality: “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12).
The stakes could not be higher Silence from the Church guarantees cultural collapse. Engagement is not optional—it is a command. Those of us in Christ must rise and contend for truth in every sphere of life, including politics. Anything less is betrayal of the gospel we claim to believe. The question remains: Are you up for the task?
