It’s about time.
The federal government is finally acknowledging what millions of Americans have known for years—our drinking water is contaminated with microplastics and pharmaceutical drugs. In a significant shift, the administration is now moving to confront these deadly toxins head-on.
According to reports, the move is in tandem with the announcement of the Systematic Targeting Of Microplastics (STOMP) program, which aims to crack down on microplastics and pharmaceutical drugs found in drinking water. Substances we never consented to or even knew about are entering our bodies daily.
The EPA is beginning the process of targeting these pollutants, signaling what could become a major public health crackdown.
“The EPA…could lead to restrictions on microplastics and pharmaceuticals” (IJR)
Drugs and plastic particles are being detected in the very water families depend on. “Pharmaceutical drugs…can end up in water systems through human waste” “Microplastics…are even present in our bodies” (IJR)
Can you imagine?
Compounds like ibuprofen and acetaminophen have been found to be among the most common—chemicals, or should I say painkillers, designed for targeted medical use only—yet they have been circulating through our public water systems for years, if not decades, without our knowledge.
For the first time, there is movement. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin states, “We will…protect the health of every American family”
The EPA’s decision to place these contaminants on a federal watchlist is the first step toward regulation, research, and ultimately removal. Is it enough? Not yet. But it is a beginning.
And for many—including myself—this is deeply personal. This is what’s flowing into our homes, into our children, into our bodies. It’s gone on long enough—and it needs to stop now.
Scripture is clear: what enters the body is not trivial.
“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit?” (1 Corinthians 6:19)
God never designed His people to be filled with toxins, chemicals, and synthetic residue. Thank God something is now being done about it.
Scripture makes it plain: “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
God blesses what we take seriously—especially when it aligns with His Word.
Be intentional. Be aware. Guard what enters your body. This matters—and it’s time we start acting like it.
