Catholic University Promotes “Queering Spirituality” After Easter

A Roman Catholic university in California is facing scrutiny after announcing an event centered on redefining faith through a queer lens. The University of San Diego plans to host a speaker promoting “queering spirituality,” raising serious concerns among believers who hold to biblical truth.

According to the report, the university will be welcoming Juan Angel Reynoso, who claims to be an “Indigenous-2Spirit Storyteller, Advocate, Teacher, and Culturally Trauma-Responsive practitioner,” to explore “what it means to navigate faith, identity, and belonging at the intersections of queerness and spirituality” (Christian Post).

Are you kidding me? 

The Message Being Promoted

The speaker, a self-described “Two-Spirit storyteller,” is connected to an organization focused on advancing queer identity and spirituality, aiming to: “cultivate belonging, healing, and connection within 2SLGBTQIA+ communities” (Christian Post)

The event positions itself as an opportunity to reshape how students understand identity within a spiritual framework. It centers on blending personal identity with faith in a way that challenges biblical definitions, encouraging participants to embrace a reinterpreted sense of belonging grounded in self-expression rather than Scripture.

We call it blasphemy. 

Biblical Truth vs Cultural Redefinition

This is not a neutral conversation—it is absolute rebellion against the Word of God.

Scripture is clear:

“So God created man in his own image… male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27).

God did not create a spectrum of genders like the world wants to believe—He created two. Any ideology that attempts to redefine this divine order is not just lunacy—it is rebellion against the Creator Himself.

Romans 1:25 warns of those who “exchanged the truth of God for a lie.” What is being promoted here is exactly that: a replacement of truth with personal identity and cultural narrative.

The Rise of Spiritual Compromise

Even more alarming is that this event is being co-sponsored by theology departments and campus ministries.

This is not merely cultural pressure—it is outright spiritual compromise within institutions that were established to uphold the truth of God’s Word.

When theology departments platform ideologies that directly contradict Scripture, they abandon their responsibility to shepherd and instead lead people astray. They replace the truth of biblical joy with a dangerous, feel-good lie: the belief that you can be anything you want because God simply wants you to be happy the way you are. 

That is not the Gospel. That is a lie from the pits of hell.

Scripture never says God’s highest priority is your happiness—it calls you to holiness. “Be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).

A Call to Stand Firm

This is a moment for clarity, not silence.

Believers must reject every attempt to redefine God’s design and boldly stand on truth. The Church cannot afford to blur the lines when Scripture has already spoken.

In today’s society, we must stand for biblical truth. Speak boldly. Refuse compromise. Return to God’s design—male and female—and defend the Gospel without apology.
