The U.S. House overwhelmingly passed a resolution reaffirming a reality the world has long recognized: Iran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism.
Yet 53 Democrats refused to support it.
Rather than bringing lawmakers together, the vote exposed a sharp divide, with dozens declining to support even a symbolic condemnation of Iran’s terror network.
According to the report, “A House resolution reaffirming Iran as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism passed overwhelmingly this week — but dozens of Democrats broke ranks and voted against it.” (ijr.com)
The measure stated plainly: “Iran remains the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism and provides substantial financial and military support to groups including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis.” (ijr.com)
For many Americans, this should not even be debated. Iran’s regime has spent decades funding extremist groups, destabilizing the Middle East, and targeting both U.S. allies and American service members.
Yet even acknowledging that reality proved too much for some lawmakers.
Among those voting against the measure were members of the far-left “Squad.”
The article notes that “Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib” were among the Democrats who opposed the resolution.
A vote condemning terrorism — and they rejected it.
The report also states that “Iranian-backed proxy militias are responsible for the deaths of at least 603 U.S. service members in Iraq.”
For years, political caution allowed terror networks to expand while leaders took bribes and avoided hard truths. That pattern is finally being challenged by the Trump administration.
Scripture leaves no room for moral confusion.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” — Isaiah 5:20
When leaders ignore truth or avoid difficult decisions, evil does not fade away. Silence does not create peace — it empowers evil.
Iran has never concealed its intentions — it funds terror, arms terror, and openly celebrates terror.
And finally President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth are doing what Washington has too often failed to do — calling evil what it is and confronting it without apology. Praise God!
