Vigilance Is Not an Option
In 2026, political violence in America continues to rise. Former FBI agent Jonathan Gilliam warns that political violence is being “normalized” by powers that be, and in fact has only “just started.” (Fox News) This surge, especially against ICE agents and law enforcement, signals a deeper spiritual crisis—biblical end-times lawlessness where hatred overtakes society, demanding vigilance from believers.
Stats Don’t Lie: Escalating Assaults on ICE Agents and Law Enforcement
Assaults on ICE officers surged over 1,300% in 2025. Vehicular attacks rose 3,200%, and death threats jumped 8,000%. (Homeland Security) Incidents include ramming vehicles into agents during operations, like in Minneapolis where the ICE officer killed a protester in a (panicked?) act of self-defense. This violence mirrors prophecies of brutality and recklessness in the last days, as people reject authority and embrace chaos.
Broader Patterns of Targeted Violence
As we painfully learned from Charlie Kirk’s assassination, this trend extends to authority figures, Christians, and anyone who stands with the Jewish people. Gilliam predicts attacks on Jewish and Christian communities will also continue to rise (The Gateway Pundit). Antisemitic incidents rose sharply in 2025, with 36% of Jewish Americans facing threats or violence, including synagogue attacks (Anti-Defamation League). Christian sites saw similar rises. These attacks clearly fulfill Scriptures of treacherous times, where self-lovers deny God’s power, so we can’t grow complacent.
A Biblical Call to Vigilance
Followers of Christ must pray for revival and stand firm against the coming storm, as this is actually a time of relative calm.
“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
Pray for the peacemakers, be prepared, preach the Gospel of peace, and fear not. God is with us!
