The world tells us we can “have it all”—a thriving marriage, a career, kids, and peace of mind. But the fruit of that lie is rotten to the core. Today, women are walking away from the workforce in droves. USA Today admits, “66.4% of women with children under six participated in the labor force as of August, a nearly 2% decline from the year prior” (USA Today).
Why?
I’ll tell you why—because the system doesn’t work. It forces mothers to choose between raising their children at home or juggling careers that demand most of their time and energy—along with a big chunk of their income. One young mom admitted, “It just didn’t make sense, financially… the daycare cost $1,500 per month” (USA Today). Women are waking up to the truth that this so-called “dream” is nothing but modern slavery.
If a mother isn’t raising her kids, Satan is.
I’ve stood in this very place myself. When I had my third child, I had to make the choice. As a former latchkey kid, I swore my children would not grow up that way—and they didn’t. When a family chooses to do things God’s way, there is peace. There is divine order. There is a balance the world can’t manufacture.
God never designed women to be cogs in the corporate machine.
Genesis 2:18 declares: “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” That is a woman’s God-ordained role: a helper, a life-giver, a keeper of the home. The Proverbs 31 woman worked, yes—but her labor flowed from her home, serving God, her husband, and children first.
The world seduces us with lies: bigger houses, fancier cars, lavish vacations. And we kill ourselves working for it. Economists warn that quitting will hurt women’s careers: “Breaks in labor force attachment set you back, and you have to climb back up” (USA Today). But what about the eternal cost? Mark 8:36 thunders: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
Divide the family. Exhaust the mothers. Let the schools and the internet raise your children. Imagine how many lives would be saved if moms were home raising their own kids instead of letting their minds rot in darkness to the point they want to kill themselves or others. (See the Charlie Kirk assassination and the Annunciation School shooting for reference.) Praise God, mothers are becoming fed up. One mom told USA Today she now treasures reading to her son, watching him play outside, and declared: “It makes my heart very happy and at peace.” (USA Today)
That Peace Is The Fruit Of Obedience
Titus 2:3-5 commands women to be “keepers at home.” The world calls it weakness. God calls it wisdom. And more women are finally listening. Amen!
