Something extraordinary happened this weekend—and it wasn’t just the obliteration of Iran’s nuclear triad. For the first time in American history, both the President of the United States and his Secretary of Defense openly, unapologetically, and prophetically honored the one true God with worshipful tones before the watching world. And they did it while defending, affirming, and blessing Israel.
President Donald J. Trump closed his Saturday night press briefing on Operation Midnight Hammer with this declaration: “We love you, God.” That’s not a throwaway line. It’s not your standard-issue “God bless America.” It’s a direct, affectionate proclamation to the Almighty from the most powerful office in the land. And while the President appeared a bit nervous in his delivery, it was very reverent, and fitting for the moment. After all, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God,” (Hebrews 10:31) and that’s exactly where the President finds himself at this moment in history. It also appears to be the first time a U.S. President has ever spoken those words in a globally broadcast address, so let’s not overlook that significance.
Then came Sunday morning. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth took the podium and made history of his own. The first Secretary of Defense to publicly name “Jesus Christ” as his Lord and Savior during a live broadcast, Hegseth ended his address by giving “all the glory to God” for the mission’s success. This wasn’t some vague appeal to Providence. It was a bold, personal declaration of faith from the leader of the world’s most powerful military force.
These are not political gestures. Pete Hegseth is widely known to be a legitimate, born-again Christian—a man who openly names Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in both private and public settings. And Donald Trump appears well on his way to that same conclusion. He now embraces regular worship services inside the White House and surrounds himself with a growing faith advisory team that includes bold pastors like Greg Locke. These aren’t cosmetic moves—they’re signals of a spiritual realignment at the very top of American leadership.
Strategically, Midnight Hammer was flawless: three Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—crippled in one coordinated strike. Zero U.S. casualties. Maximum global impact. The message was clear: the United States stands with Israel—and we won’t ever blink in the face of evil.
This was more than a military victory—it was a prophetic marker. History will remember the blast radius. Heaven will remember the intent and the reverence. This is the Lord’s doing, and all the glory indeed belongs to Him. For those who think Christian’s should be pacifists who tolerate evil against Israel, be aware:
“And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.”— Zechariah 12:9
