Lt. Mark Bashaw refused to comply with unconstitutional COVID mandates in 2022. As a result, the Army court-martialed him—making him the first officer in U.S. military history to be criminally charged for declining pandemic protocols. His conviction came not for misconduct, abuse, or insubordination—but for declining to wear a mask, submit to testing, or telework under Biden’s politically driven military rules.
At the time of his conviction, Bashaw served as Preventive Medicine Officer at the Army’s Public Health Command. The irony was glaring: a public health professional with firsthand knowledge of medical science was criminally charged for rejecting orders that ignored scientific ethics and violated religious conviction.
Now, under Donald Trump’s second-term justice initiative, Bashaw has received a full and unconditional pardon.
According to TheBlaze, the pardon wipes Bashaw’s record clean. He no longer carries a conviction for standing on moral and constitutional grounds.
Bashaw responded to the news by pointing to the bigger picture: “The truth matters. I was fighting to preserve the ethical foundation of public health, not just for myself but for every American. This pardon affirms that I wasn’t wrong to take that stand.”
He added, “I pray we see many more examples of accountability like this. Too many lives and careers were crushed over unlawful mandates and coerced compliance.”
“Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity.” (Psalm 26:1)
Biden’s military brass tried to bury Bashaw’s integrity under a conviction. Trump just dug it out and restored it.
