The blood of Nigerian Christians continues to cry out—but once again, the liberal media remains deaf. Even after last month’s slaughter of 54 believers at Passover, which we covered in When the Blood Cries Louder Than the Church, most major outlets refused to lift a finger to report the horror. Now, with more than 170 additional Christians massacred during the Easter season, the same shameful silence screams louder than words.
As reported by International Christian Concern and Christianity Today, Fulani militants—predominantly Muslim extremists—have launched a fresh wave of bloodshed across Nigeria’s Middle Belt, leveling villages, torching churches, and butchering worshippers in the middle of their Easter celebrations. These attacks are not random acts of violence. They are strategic, coordinated strikes against the body of Christ.
And yet, our media elites refuse to look. Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council captured it bluntly:
“The media’s silence is deafening. The mainstream press—still stuck in the anti-Christian bias they learned during the [Biden Administration]—cannot muster any moral outrage when the victims are believers.”
Instead, they saturate the air waves with anti-Trump talking points and the climate change hoax—parroting globalist narratives while the greatest modern genocide against Christians burns unchecked.
Tragically, much of the Christian media is apparently hesitant to press in on this ongoing tragedy. Apart from a few faithful outlets who have mentioned these atrocities, most notably Christianity Today and the Christian Post (though not nearly enough), many Christian publications have abandoned their prophetic mandate. Instead of the ongoing attention this crisis mandates, most choose instead to churn out fluff, celebrity gossip, and safe “churchianity” headlines while their brothers and sisters in Christ are hunted down and slaughtered. The urgency of the hour is buried beneath the comfort of Western distractions.
We are witnessing a real genocide in real time, and we’re also witnessing the great sifting of the Church. I have to ask: If this were happening in a predominantly white or Latino nation, would it get more attention? Probably—tragically—yes. God help us.
Let’s not be mistaken. The cries of the saints have reached the Lord in heaven—and He is taking record. If we are too timid to open our mouths for the mute, too selfish to defend the defenseless, or too lazy to care, we are not merely bystanders; we are part of the problem, and the Lord is writing that down too.
“Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy” (Proverbs 31:8–9).
Now is not the time for silence or ignorance. Call your congressman. Write to your favorite Christian news site. Talk to your pastor. Share this article on your social media. It is time for the true remnant to lift our voices like trumpets—and stand where the world refuses to stand.
