On April 4, 2025, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 180 into law, a measure aimed at reinforcing the rights of citizens to freely exercise their faith without undue interference from the government. The bill passed with a 96–70 vote—despite fierce opposition from Democrats, most of whom claim to be Christians. Let that sink in. A bill that simply mirrors the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act signed by Bill Clinton—yes, that Bill Clinton—was too much for today’s Democratic Party.
The Left Can’t Tolerate Religious Liberty
What did this “radical” bill do? It affirmed that the government can’t trample religious liberty unless it has a compelling interest and uses the least restrictive means to do so (legis.ga.gov). In plain terms, it protects the church from the kind of Nazi overreach we saw during COVID—while still allowing emergency mandates to be enforced, so long as they’re applied fairly. That’s it. Basic First Amendment reinforcement.
The Left’s Favorite Gaslight
Democrats screeched. Why? To them, the only “freedom” worth defending is the one that dismantles the moral foundations of the Constitution. They smeared the bill as an excuse to discriminate—a gaslit argument so tired and dishonest it doesn’t even deserve the dignity of a rebuttal. No Christian has asked for the right to harm anyone. What we’re asking for is the right to exist in a nation that was founded on the Bible and the very faith they now openly despise.
Christians in Name Only?
Let’s not forget: the large majority of Georgia’s lawmakers claim to believe in the God of the Bible. If that is true, then what spirit is guiding their vote? Clearly, it is not the Spirit of God. What we are witnessing is the spirit of this age—the same spirit that’s bent on silencing the church and dragging it back into the catacombs. This is the globalist agenda at work: to erase the Word of God from the public square and replace it with lawlessness.
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you… and are turning to a different gospel… If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!” (Galatians 1:6, 9)
When elected officials use their office to oppose God’s people, they are not neutral—they are adversaries. One day soon, they’ll answer for it, so we all need to pray they turn from their wicked ways today.
