The Shame of a Nation: Pakistan’s Evil War on Christian Daughters

In a just world, this headline would shock every conscience. Instead, it barely causes a ripple.

According to International Christian Concern, persecution of Christians in Pakistan has reached “alarming new heights.” Forced conversions, abductions, beatings, and blasphemy charges are now tragically routine. But it’s the exploitation of young Christian girls that tears at the heart.

The ICC reports that Christian girls as young as 12 are being abducted, raped, and forcibly converted to Islam—then married to their captors. “The average age of girls abducted is between 12 and 18 years,” says the article. “In nearly every instance, the minor’s Christian identity is erased by forced conversion and name changes.”

This isn’t fringe behavior. It is embedded in the system—and fueled by growing radical Islamic influence that targets Christians with religious impunity. “The police often refuse to register cases,” ICC notes. “In fact, when Christian families protest, they are threatened with blasphemy accusations—which could mean death under Pakistan’s laws.” A lawyer with Human Rights Focus Pakistan described one case where “the girl was told her parents would be killed if she refused the marriage.”

As of January, 20 Christians remain jailed for alleged blasphemy, their names etched into a justice system built on religious hatred.

And yet, the world shrugs.

Where is the UN resolution? Where is the outrage from women’s rights groups? Where is the voice of the global Church?

If there is one silver lining, it is this: International Christian Concern is on the front lines—advocating, documenting, and rescuing. They aren’t afraid to speak the truth, and they need our support.

The Bible is clear: “Rescue those being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter” (Proverbs 24:11).
